Despite a tough first quarter in financial markets, Natixis improved full-year 2016 results thanks particularly a dynamic fourth-quarter 2016. Natixis’ net revenues excluding exceptional items improved by 2% to €8.7 billion in 2016, while the net income progressed by 7% to €1.4 billion. Revenues from core businesses also rose 3% to €8.1 billion over the full year and reached €2.1 billion in the final quarter.

Profitability, consistently improved with core-business ROE closing the year at 13.1%, fully 100 and 300 basis points ahead of end-2015 and end-2013 levels, respectively. The Basel 3 Core Tier One ratio amounted to 10.8% on January 1, 2017, well above the ECB’s requirements for 2017.

Natixis’ Investment Solutions Division, which includes core businesses such as Asset Management, Insurance and Private Banking, experienced in 2016 a limited drop in net revenues of 4% in 2016 vs 2015 and ROE reached 13.3%. Between 2014-2016, the year-to-year growth for Investment Solutions’ net revenues was 11%.

Natixis Global Asset Management’s assets under management rose by €31 billion to €832 billion during 2016, the best year ever, despite a €20 billion outflow recorded in the US, which was partly offset by €7 billion of inflow in Europe (after posting an exceptional +€33 billion in 2015).
