Natixis IM was a highly active participant in the prestigious New York Climate Week 2023.

Climate Week NYC is the largest annual climate event, bringing together about 400 panels, discussions and round tables across New York. It is hosted by Climate Group in partnership with the United Nations General Assembly.

A “Convergence Blended Finance Networking” breakfast was hosted by Natixis Corporate and Investment Banking (NY CIB). Laura Kaliszewski, Head of Sustainable Investment Solutions at Natixis IM and Philippe Zaouati, Chief Executive of Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis IM, discussed tangible solutions to scale funding for blended finance.

Kaliszewski told attendees at the breakfast: “This is a great way to start NY Climate Week, by committing to blended finance as a powerful tool for change. This week is the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogues, forge innovative partnerships and catalyze investments that have the potential to transform societies, safeguard our planet and make SDGs attainable goals.”

Meanwhile, Zaouati was a speaker at an Investor Leadership Network (ILN) event, titled: “Unlocking Investment Strategies for Real-World Decarbonization”. During the event, held at the Canadian Consulate, Zaouati discussed the role of the financial sector in driving the transition to real economy decarbonization.

Zaouati was joined by other members of the ILN and the event also featured a keynote address from the Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Canada, Steven Guilbeault.

The ILN is a platform for investors to address sustainability and long-term growth issues with members managing over $10 trillion in assets under management, The ILN focuses on private capital mobilization for sustainable development; diversity, equity and inclusion; and climate change.

New York Climate Week has been held every year since 2009. It has grown from a few panel discussions to a week-long summit drawing world political and business leaders, senior executives and climate activists.

Discussions at NY Climate Week typically foreshadow many of the talking points to expect at the COP events, with COP28 taking place in the United Arab Emirates in November 2023.
