For the second consecutive year, Mirova was named B Corp 'Best For The WorldTM1 in recognition of its significant positive impact in the "Customers" impact area.

This recognition is awarded by B Lab to certified B Corporations (B Corp)2 that rank in the top 5% of their category in at least one of the five impact areas assessed: Community, Customers, Environment, Governance, And Workers.

As a mission-driven company3, Mirova seeks to create investment solutions that combine positive environmental and social impacts with long-term financial performance. In 2021, Mirova already made its mark by being named one of the "Best for the WorldTM1 B Corp on the "Customers" impact area.

This award recognises Mirova's ability to offer high quality management and investment criteria and to measure the impact of its portfolios, as well as its ability to raise market awareness of impact finance.

Each year, Best For The WorldTM highlights the most successful B Corp's that are creating real positive impact through their activities, providing an opportunity for the awarded companies to share their knowledge, learning and best practices with the entire B Corp community, but also with companies outside the community to encourage innovation and transformation in the corporate world.

The Best For The WorldTM recognition is awarded by B Lab, a non-profit organisation that certifies and mobilises B Corp's, companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. There are now more than 5,000 B Corp in 80 countries and 155 industries, united around a common goal: to foster a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic model that serves the common good.

2 Since 2006, the B Corp movement has been promoting strong values of change throughout the world to make businesses “a force for good” and to distinguish those which reconcile profit (for profit) and collective interest (for purpose). B Corp’s goal is to certify companies that integrate social, societal and environmental objectives into their business model and operations. More details here

3 Introduced in France in 2018 under the Pacte Law, a ‘société à mission’ company must define its "raison d'être" and one or more social, societal or environmental objectives beyond profit. The purpose, and objectives aligned with this purpose, must be set out in its Articles of Association. The Articles specify the means by which the execution of the Mission will be monitored by a Mission Committee (a corporate body distinct from the board of directors which is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the mission with at least one employee.) An independent third party then verifies the execution of the Mission, via a written opinion which is annexed to the report of the Mission Committee to shareholders and made available on the website of the company for a period of five years.
