As Chief Investment Officer, Private Assets, Raphaël Lance leads Mirova’s integrated private assets platform, which brings together the firm’s Energy Transition Infrastructure, Natural Capital businesses. He oversees one of Europe’s leading impact investment platforms, helping to drive the environmental transition while supporting the development of a more sustainable and resilient economy.
A member of Mirova’s Executive Committee, Raphaël plays a key role in shaping the firm’s strategic development, investment priorities and long-term growth ambitions.
Since joining Mirova in 2009, Raphaël has held a number of leadership positions, in particular serving as Head of Energy Transition Infrastructure, and then the overall private asset responsibility since January 2025 He has overseen the development of thirteen investment vehicles representing nearly €5 billion invested in renewable energy and low-carbon mobility assets worldwide, while leading a team of 70 professionals. He also continues to chair the investment committees the energy transition funds.
Before joining Mirova, Raphaël spent 12 years at General Electric in various finance and M&A roles, notably within GE Oil & Gas and GE Energy Financial Services. He began his career at Crédit Lyonnais, specialising in project finance for the shipping sector.
Raphaël holds a Master's degree and a postgraduate degree (DESS) in Finance from Université Paris Dauphine and completed the International Executive Program at INSEAD. Over the course of his career, he has spent nearly ten years working internationally.
