Christine Barbier began her career in 1986 at UAP Assurances as a fixed income portfolio manager and analyst. She joined CDC Gestion (which later became IXIS Asset Management) in 1990 as a senior euro bond portfolio manager in the insurance asset management team. 

In 2003, she moved to cash and synthetic credit portfolio management in the Ostrum Asset Management Credit team (previously Natixis AM).
