MV Credit has been certified as a CarbonNeutral® company in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, the latest move in its journey towards greater sustainability.
Under The CarbonNeutral Protocol, MV Credit calculated all emissions associated with its offices and business activities (scopes 1, 2 and all required scope 3). It offset these emissions by providing essential finance to an emissions reduction project - the Andhra Pradesh State Wind Power project, in India.
This project uses 42 wind turbines to generate a capacity of 84 MW. By delivering clean renewable energy, the wind farm displaces energy generated from fossil fuel power plants and helps to diversify India’s overall energy mix.
“This certification reflects the focus towards MV Credit becoming a more sustainable organisation by improving environmental performance and sustainable growth,” says Alexandra Sarrafan, Office Manager and a member of MV Credit’s ESG Committee.
“This certification is important for us as an organisation, but also important for existing and prospective clients”. With major changes ahead as the Paris Climate Agreement is rolled out over the next couple of years, there is clear momentum to mitigate climate change. LPs are understandably very focused on climate issues.
“Our next steps will focus on other aspects of sustainability, such as inequality. We already have a number of charitable collaborations in this respect.”
The CarbonNeutral Protocol
is the leading global standard for carbon neutral programmes and provides robust and credible evidence of carbon neutrality for certified companies such as MV Credit.
